Chloe and Lewis’ beautiful wedding – Orchardleigh House
I was lucky enough to create the flowers for Chloe and Lewis’ wedding day at Orchardleigh House just a few days after Valentines and it may have been my favourite combination of wedding flowers ever!!
Friday 17th February 2017
It’s so lovely to meet with brides/grooms that are really passionate and focused on their wedding flowers being a big part of the day and this was definitely the case for Chloe and Lewis. I knew how important it was for Chloe to have beautiful flowers for her big day and she was particularly excited about planning them, talking through the details and showing me her ideas.
We met up over 18 months ago for her first wedding consultation to talk through the basics such as the date, venue, style, flower types and just chat about what she wanted in her wedding flowers over a cuppa!
The Bride –
Chloe wanted her bouquet to be compact and textured filled with lots of Roses, Lilac, Astilbe, Ammi Sweet Peas, Stocks and Veronica. Chloe was keen to add a personal touch to her bouquet and I added in a touch of Heather which was the name of her grandmother who had sadly passed away before the wedding.
Such a beautiful bride in an amazing dress with a gorgeous bouquet!
Chloe’s bouquet was made up of the folllowing varieties of flowers:
Amnesia Rose
Wedding Rose
Cappucino Rose
Syringa, white
Matthiola, white Stocks
Astilbe
Sweet Peas
Veronica
Ammi
The Bridesmaids –
For the bridesmaids, Chloe decided that she wanted them to have something very similar to her own bouquet, just slightly smaller with less variation of flower types and focus on Roses. Chloe got her bridesmaids dresses from Dessy and didn’t they look beautiful! Their flowers compliment their dresses so well.
The photographer –
It’s always such a joy when my clients have an amazing photographer that captures the day in such an amazing way. I would highly recommend Ryan to you if you are looking for someone to snap away throughout the day & night, a lovely chap and really professional.. but most of all, one of the best photographers I have come across!
As for the cake.. what a great job Chloe’s mum, Lorraine, made of their wedding cake! It must put the pressure on creating your daughter and son-in-law’s wedding cake for the big day when you’re not a professional cake maker. However, I think that Lorraine did an amazing job and it was a joy to decorate the cake with fresh flowers that matched Chloe’s bridal bouquet.
The Groom –
Lewis and his groomsmen had buttonholes to match Chloe’s bouquet. They all had an ivory rose and Lewis went for a Cappuccino Rose with seasonal foliage and a touch of Astilbe.
The Honeymoon –
As lovely as it is to disappear off on your honeymoon straight after your wedding day, I always think it must be hard to leave all your family and friends after such an amazing day. Chloe and Lewis headed off to Mauritius for their so didn’t get to fully enjoy their wedding flowers.. So… I decided that it would be a lovely wedding present to re-create Chloe’s wedding flowers and deliver them as a reminded of their wedding day.
Huge congratulations to you both, I hope you both had the most amazing wedding day. Thank you for choosing me to create your wedding flowers – it was such a pleasure. Love Ella x
