Katie and Ricky – 23.09.2017 – Kingscote Barn, Tetbury
Kingscote Barn – Saturday 23rd September 2017
I was so excited to open up my emails to find an email from the lovely Elizabeth with Katie and Ricky’s gorgeous wedding shots attached.
I am so excited to share these photos with you all! Enjoy x
Kingscote Barn
I loved working on Katie and Ricky’s wedding flowers at Kingscote Barn, in Tetbury last September and I will be back in a couple of weeks time to create and set up Liann and Ellis’ wedding flowers there too!
Katie and Ricky decided that they wanted their flowers to be mainly ivory and green with a touch of pale pink alongside gorgeous antique looking Roses. I put together a mood board of flower types that are seasonal throughout September so they could see what I had in mind for their wedding flowers and they loved the combination.
The Flowers
The bridal bouquet incorporated Super Bubble Spray Roses which are pretty little roses with ivory petals around the outside of the flower with a really soft blush centre which worked really well and sprung to mind as soon as Katie said that she wanted to incorporate some blush in to her flowers.
Other flowers that were incorporated in to Katie’s bouquet was O’Hara White Roses, which have a real vintage and classic look to them along with Astillbe, Stocks (which smell AMAZING!), Amnesia Roses, Senecio, gorgeous white Hydrangeas, berried Populus and Cinerea Eucalyptus too which gave the bouquet a real soft look as opposed to using a darker green foliage.
First stop on the morning of their wedding day was delivering the bridal bouquet and bridesmaids flowers. Katie was staying in a cute cottage in a small village called Painswick. The journey involved a gorgeous countryside tour in the rolling hills of a Painswick and down a long private drive to the cottage.
The Bride
Delivering to the bride on the morning of the wedding is always such an enjoyable part of the day and every bride is so different on the morning of their big day. When I arrived to Katie, the music was blaring, there was countless bottles of prosecco dotted around the cottage and as soon as I stepped in the front door, you could sense the excitement and happiness in everyone!
The Venue
The next stop was the venue, Kingscote is such a beautiful venue in the countryside and to get to it you have to drive down a long driveway through fields either side until you reach the barn. We had some setting up to do at the venue which involved installing and securing the garland to the mezzanine, filling the window alcoves with flowers and long trailing ivy plants and then doing the jam jars for the tables. All of the flowers that were incorporated in to Katie’s bouquet were then used in the venue flowers which brought it all together and it looked so beautiful!
Ricky was ready at the venue and clearly very excited for the day ahead. When I arrived, Ricky was doing the last minute jobs such as the order of services on the chairs with his best man and helping each other to pin their buttonholes on to their jackets – always amusing to watch!!
Huge congratulations to you both! It was a pleasure to be a part of your day and I wish you all the happiness in the world for your future together as Mr and Mrs Gutheridge. x
