Flowers of Bath turns 6 years old.
Let’s begin with… I have NO idea where the past 6 years have gone, they have truly flown by and here I am writing this, just a few days after our 6th birthday.
It’s crazy to look back and think about how it all began and how much things have changed. From my back garden in my purpose built studio, where Flowers of Bath began, to now based in central Bath from our gorgeous shop on Lansdown Road.

It’s not often I share images/posts about ‘me’ or how it began or the world behind Flowers of Bath, mainly because I just simply don’t have the time and I get wrapped up in posting about weddings & events etc etc!
However, last week, I had the wonderful Lewis Membery with me in the shop for a day at Flowers of Bath, snapping away so I thought I’d share a few of the shots!
Lewis was actually one of our photographers from our wedding day, back in October 2018 at Bishopstrow House and his style is very relaxed and natural, candid shots with no posing (thank goodness! I’d be awful!)

So here is a little story about how it began, how it’s changed and where we are and what we are doing now!
How Flowers of Bath began..
When Flowers of Bath was born in April 2013, I figured that it was important to build my client base up and get my name out there before delving in to a premises with great outgoings for a new, small business. Therefore, I decided that I would put that on hold, gradually build the business up and my portfolio and then at a later date, find a suitable premises in Bath.

It took me a while to find a premises that I was happy with the location, shop size/layout and somewhere with suitable parking for customers. Until I came across 27 Belvedere.
I was based from my studio in Bathford for 3 and a half years before I moved in to the shop, which meant that when I moved in to the shop in October 2016, our reputation and name was already out and about which helped hugely.
We spent a couple of weeks making changes to the shop, decorating and preparing to open and the doors officially opened on 22nd November 2016. Since then, it has been a whirlwind, an amazing whirlwind, but we now have a great team who have a passion for floristry, like my own which is so important.

We specialise in bespoke wedding flowers which is mainly what we do and love doing! We are nearly completely fully booked for 2019, with just a handful of dates available and the wedding diary for 2020 is already pretty booked up!

I absolutely love being a part of creating a couple’s wedding day flowers from the start to finish. The initial chat and excitement of the couple, to talking through their flowers and vision over a cup of tea, confirming everything before the wedding day to then delivering and setting them on their wedding day.
It’s such an enjoyable part of the job and to be a part of the planning of the biggest day of their lives.

Over the past 6 years, we have had the pleasure to work on over 250 weddings and each of those weddings has been completely unique to the next.
We often set up at flowers at venues in and around Bath and although we have been to some of the same venues uncountable times, it’s amazing how different each wedding can look purely down to the couples vision and design of their day and how they choose to style the venue.
It’s always exciting to style new venues and this coming year we will be visiting lots of new venues and making them look even more fabulous when they’re filled with lots of gorgeous blooms!

We absolutely adore what we do and have a true passion and love for everything flowers and we look forward to creating so many more bouquets, wedding flowers, event designs and general flowery things over the next 6 years!
Thank you to each and every single person who has shopped local and supported out little independent florist, whether that be buying a little bunch of Tulips for a friend of whether you’ve booked us for your wedding flowers – each and every purchase comes with a huge thank you from the bottom of my heart!
