Zoe and Michael – Priston Mill
Quite possibly the loveliest couple with the most amazing vision for their wedding day.
From fresh flowers and the most talented band down to the little details such as the charger plates on the table.
It was such a special and wonderful wedding to be a part of and I am so excited to share the images with you all!
Zoe contacted me back in January 2018 about doing her flowers for their wedding day at the Tythe Barn in the picturesque village of Priston on the outskirts of Bath.
I absolutely adore a couple who have the vision for the wedding day and can really picture their big day and Zoe and Michael knew exactly what they wanted.
It was clear to me how important the flowers were to Zoe for their wedding and that she really wanted them to be a statement and have the wow-factor.
The Flowers
Zoe’s flowers incorporated mainly Roses, Hydrangeas and Phalaenopsis Orchids – a beautifully elegant combination that worked so well together in the barn.
The white and green contrasted so well with the stone walls and high ceilings.
Zoe had spent a lot of time scouring through Pinterest and Google to really bring what she had in her head in to reality and I am thrilled to say that she was absolutely blown away by her flowers.
The Planning
It took a lot of prep and organisation to create the flowers for their wedding as transportation of such delicate flowers is always a risky one.
So we took the decision to create all of the venue flowers at the venue which worked out really well.
Especially for the mezzanine which is always so much better to design and create in situe as opposed to creating a design, transporting it and then securing it to the beams not fully knowing how it will sit on the day.
Their Style
Zoe and Michael wanted something natural and relaxed looking on the mezzanine to really make a feature and focal point of the balcony and barn.
The excitement of this couple to wed was so beautiful to see and just look how smart Michael looked in his bespoke tuxedo created by the talented Nathan Palmer Bespoke based in Penarth.
The Photography
It’s always wonderful to receive the photos back from the photographer, to see everything in place and to see the couple on the day.
Zoe and Michael’s photo’s just simply blew me away, the day is captured in such an emotive and natural light – it’s safe to say that ALS Photography did an incredible job.
Zoe’s incredible make up was done by Megan from The Face Boss. A professional make up artist based in South Wales who travels to make brides, like Zoe, look incredible on their wedding day!!
Zoe and her bridesmaids got ready at the most gorgeous privately owned house in a small village called Inglesbatch, just ten minutes drive from Priston Mill.
If you are getting married at Priston, I’d highly recommend ‘The Spud Shed‘ as it is set in the gorgeous rolling countryside with beautiful views and a large open space for everyone to get ready on the morning without being crowded or on top of each other for the vital preparations!!
Other incredibly talented suppliers that helped to make Zoe and Michael’s wedding day so memorable was Anna Cake Couture .
An incredibly talented cake maker based in Clifton, Bristol. Zoe and Michael stuck with the black tie theme and went for a black iced three tier cake.
It looked absolutely divine and had large gold detail and a beautiful large iced flower in the centre with gold leaves.
Being in the wedding industry, you meet so many amazing wedding suppliers.
At Zoe and Michael’s wedding I came across John Mark Films who are an award winning videographer and film maker company based in Swansea.
As you’ll see from the snippet video of Z&M’s wedding day – they are incredible.
They have been recommended to our future couples who are on the hunt for someone wonderful to capture their day so they can re-live everything in detail after the day has flown by in a flash!
The Dress
Zoe’s beautiful dress was from One Bridal based in Cardiff. Zoe chose the most gorgeous gown and both her and Michael looked so incredible on their wedding day.
The bridesmaids bouquets were made up of the same blooms as in Zoe’s bouquet however theirs did not incorporate any Phalaenopsis Orchids.
Those were only in the bridal bouquet and in the venue flowers. A real compact and modern look to the bridal and bridesmaids bouquets that contrasted so perfectly with their black bridesmaids dresses.
We incorporated a few more types of flowers in to the mezzanine design and the table flowers, including Hydrangeas and a few more varieties of Roses such as Yves Piaget.
As soon as you step in to the barn, this installation was a real wow factor and gave the venue, which is generally quite a blank canvas with stone walls a real reflection to the couples style and personality.
We absolutely loved creating this design and around 3 hours work went in to solely creating this design!
We decided to keep this design a little more natural and kept the orchids to the bridal flowers and the table displays which worked really well and everything tied in so well together.
Zoe and Michael wanted the aisle to be something a little more unique and special so Michael we worked together to figure out the suitable dimensions for the size arrangement that they both wanted for the flowers.
Michael created the clear acryllic boxes for the designs to sit on which were used down the aisle. The flowers were then used on the guests round tables which looked so gorgeous!
Zoe sourced her glass beaded edged charger plates from Prestige Hire based in Bristol and having seen them at her wedding, I actually decided to contact Prestige myself and we had similar at our wedding the following month!
Such a subtle touch that makes such a big difference to the overall look at style of your tables.
It was an absolute pleasure to create their wedding flowers and working with them both was an absolute dream.
I wish you all the happiness in the world together for your future as Mr and Mrs Harries! X
